Saint Dionysios Festival
Zakynthos celebrates its patron
The Feast of Saint Dionysios is the most important day in the Zakynthian calendar. The island's patron saint is celebrated with a grand procession through the town, carrying the saint's relics along the waterfront as thousands gather to pay their respects.
The atmosphere is electric — a mix of deep devotion, civic pride, and joyful celebration. The harbour fills with boats, the streets with music, and the tavernas with feasting that lasts well into the night. It is Zakynthos at its most alive.
